Abel's Bicycle Shop was featured in a New York Times article titled, "Two Wheels, Four Churches" by Lucy Ferriss on November 23, 2003.

The article speaks of the writer's experience in San Antonio, Texas touring the famous San Antonio Mission Trail as well as The Riverwalk, the historic King William District Neighborhood and other sites seen along the way. It was mentioned that her ride was assisted by the simple, yet informative map proved to her by Abel and how his customer service was top notch when it was realized that one of the bikes did not 'feel' right and a simple phone call was made mid-ride to have us exchange the bicycle for a different style of bike.
